Hello students and parents, welcome back to school!  I hope that you all had a wonderful summer.  The 2014-2015 school year promises to be a musical one!

 

The Grade 3 classes perform on recorders at the Seniors Luncheon

 

The Grade 4 classes will perform with the Creighton School Chorus

at the Remembrance Day ceremony, which will take place at 11:00 

on November 6th  2014

 

 

 

 

Students in Grade 3 will need to purchase a recorder from the office.  The cost is $8.00, and students will be able to keep the instrument forever.  We have ordered high quality, professional recorders and are making them available to the students at cost.  Please do not purchase a toy recorder at the dollar store for your lessons.  The professional quality recorders will be true to pitch and will help you to develop your skills effectively.  

 

Guitar Club will begin on Friday, October 10th.  The club is open to all students who have an interest in learning the basics of playing guitar.  You need to bring your own guitar, and a willingness to learn.  Lessons are every Friday at lunch  from October until the end of January.  If you already have some skills, I can advance your playing to the next level with fingerstyle exercises and barre chords.  If you don't know anything at all but you would like to learn, join us and I promise to get you strumming! Interested club members will have an opportunity to perform for the community at the Christmas concert.
